Psalm 107:1-3,8
“The Say So Crowd”
Rev. William R. Ricks, pastor

In 2001 a dynamic young preacher named William R. Ricks resigned his post at New St. Matthews Baptist Church in Nacogdoches, Texas and moved to Lufkin with his wife, Gloria, and their talented children, Aryn, Lauryn and Kaleb in order to accept the pastorship at First Missionary Baptist Church.

To this day, Pastor Ricks leads by example as the church moves “forward, looking ahead and reaching outward” toward Salvation.

Undeterred and still faithful, Rev. Ricks is guiding his congregation during these most challenging times caused by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic using modern day platforms like Facebook Live, web live streaming, Zoom, teleconferencing and more to connect and spread the gospel.

Rev. Ricks continues to preach from his heart and soul each Sunday so that we may have a successful Christian journey

THE BIBLE IS THE WORD OF GOD

  1. The Bible is “living” because:  It is the word of God who is living and abides forever.
  2. It speaks of and shows the way of life from its beginning to its end.
  3. It communicates life.
  4. It has the capacity for nourishing the souls of men.
  5. It is inexhaustible. The depths and treasurers and truths within it can never be explored fully in an entire lifetime yet the truth is simple and plainly evident.

Strengthening the Family – “To put the word right in order, we must first put the nation in order, to put the nation in order, we must first put the family in order, to put the family in order, we must first cultivate our personal life; we must first set our hearts right.”
